I've gotten these questions a lot

Hey Reader,

In the past few days, I've gotten a lot of questions about my new app, Strength in Midlife.

I'm going to answer the 3 most frequently asked questions today, so you have an idea if Strength in Midlife is right for you!

1st question: I'm really new to strength training. Will this app be too hard for me?

Answer: I designed the sequence and trajectory of Strength in Midlife with beginners in mind! In fact, if you already have a fairly consistent strength training practice and you feel confident with weights, this app might not be right for you.

The first few months on the app are all about getting familiar with 4 foundational lifts: squats, deadlifts, rows, and overhead presses. Depending on how many days a week you want to work on strength training, the first phase will take 3 -6 months!

I created this app for the long haul and to give you a solid foundation of strength training, so that as you get stronger you can add different versions of those lifts, as well as others that are more complex.

So to be clear, this app is created for beginners or those you want a very specific program that guides you from foundational strength work into more complex strength work.

2nd question: Do I need lots of equipment to do the workouts in this app?

Answer: Not at first. Ideally you have hand weights because bodyweight strength training is fantastic, but it won't get you very far.

I do recommend a range of hand weights. For lower body work, you are going to want and need heavier weights than you think. 5lb weights will not cut it for deadlifts and squats.

But for the first few months, all you'll need are a few sets of hand weights, a yoga mat, yoga blocks, and possibly a strap/belt.

3rd question: How does this compare to your online studio, MOVE with Naomi?

Answer: When I created this app, I did it to fill a gap in the programming I offer. YouTube is free and I have some workouts there, but it's not a guided program. You choose your own adventure. And there are ads.

My 2 programs, Power of One and Daily 5, offer a guided program but only for a month. And the goal of those programs is to create the habit of movement to build a simple, daily practice. There are strength components but there isn't a sense of building strength so much as introducing it. Power of One is free, while Daily 5 is a one time, affordable payment.

MOVE has 3 tiers.
MOVE15 offers short practices, nearly all pre-recorded. There is no calendar to guide you, but we do focus on a specific pose and strength exercises all month long, if you're sticking with the monthly videos. This is $20/mo and less than the app is monthly.
MOVE offers more access to me via live classes and longer classes, plus a calendar which guides you through a month of movement built around the pose and the actions. As a result it is $40/mo and more monthly than the app. MOVE Plus includes a built for you program every month, which is the closest to the app but you also get more contact with me since the program is built for you, it changes every month (if you want it to), and I offer support as needed. This is $80/mo and significantly more expensive than the app.

STRENGTH IN MIDLIFE is the next natural step after the Daily 5, but also offer a little more than you'd get from me in MOVE15.

I know that's a lot of information, but hopefully it gives you more of an idea of whether Strength in Midlife would benefit you (or someone you know).

And if it does sound like this app would support you, go check out Strength in Midlife -- A Daily Movement App for Aging Well. There's a huge sale happening to celebrate the launch of my app and several others within the Studio platform. You can get 20% off an annual or quarterly subscription through May 8th.

I am monumentally proud of what I have created. My hope is that it will make daily movement more accessible, strength more attainable, and aging feel more powerful.

Please head on over to Strength in Midlife and learn a little more about my app. Even if it's not for you, it might benefit someone you know.

Let's get stronger, together!

Naomi
